Midim-I Hydropower Project (13.42MW)

HTR is carrying out Detailed Engineering Design of the Run of River hydropower project of capacity 13.42MW located across the Midim River in Lamjung District.

Major features:

Design Discharge 10.43m3/sec, Gross head 1052.10m, Plant Capacity 13.424MW

The project will divert 4.07 m3/s of flow from the Midim River by constructing a broad crested weir with a crest level at 1146.00 m amsl. The diverted flow through the intake will pass through the gravel trap, the approach culvert and two chambered surface settling basin. A conveyance tank/headpond will be located immediately after the settling basin. From the conveyance tank, water will enter the headrace pipe, which will be about 7.218 km long. A pressure headrace pipe will convey the diverted water into 2 vertical axis Pelton turbines (via penstock manifolds) to be located in the surface powerhouse near Maling village. The turbine’s axis level is maintained at 753 amsl. With this arrangement, the gross head of the project will be 394.5 m. After power production, water will be discharged back to the Midim River through a free-flow type about 170 m long tailrace canal. The waterway alignment and other project components will be along the left bank of the Midim River.
