Dudhkoshi-2 Hydroelectric Project (93MW)
HTR is carrying out Detailed Engineering Design of Peaking Run of River hydropower project of capacity 93MW located across Dudhkoshi river in Solukhumbu District.
Major features:
Design Discharge 69.3m3/sec, Gross head 165m, Plant Capacity 93MW
The project comprises a long barrage equipped with four radial gates (12.0 m wide × 15.0 m high), two additional radial gates (6.0 m wide × 7.0 m high), and two spillway openings (6.0 m wide × 5.5 m high). The barrage operates between elevations of 804.00 masl and 807.25 masl and includes three side intake openings (7.5 m wide × 6.0 m high) connected to approach tunnels/culverts of 8.25 m width and 5.50 m height, each with an average length of about 105 m. Discharge is conveyed to a surface desanding chamber and then through a 4.8 km long, concrete-lined horseshoe-shaped headrace tunnel with a finished diameter of 5.5 m, before being delivered via vertical and inclined penstock shafts (68.38 m and 94.75 m long, 5.2 m internal diameter) to two vertical-axis Francis turbines in the powerhouse located on the left bank of the Dudhkoshi River.
