Bakan Khola Hydropower Project (44MW)
HTR is carrying out Detailed Engineering Design of Peaking Run of River hydropower project of capacity 44MW located across the Bakan Khola in Sankhuwasabha District.
Major features:
Design Discharge 5.15m3/sec, Gross head 1052.10m, Plant Capacity 44MW
The project weir is located about 200 m downstream of the confluence of Bakan Khola and Pilin Khola at an elevation of approximately 2,800 masl. The scheme includes a boulder weir with one undersluice, three side intakes, an approach canal, a settling basin, a peaking pond, a headrace pipe and tunnel, a surge shaft, a penstock with anchor blocks, vertical and horizontal shafts, a surface powerhouse, and a tailrace culvert.
