Lungri Khola Hydropower Project (9.6MW)
HTR is carrying out Detailed Engineering Design of Peaking Run of River hydropower project of capacity 9.6MW located across Rapti Khola in Rolpa District.
Major features:
Design Discharge 10.43m3/sec, Gross head 107.2m, Plant Capacity 9.6MW
The entire alignment from the headworks to the powerhouse of the project lies along the left bank of the river. The headworks site is located in Lungri Khola about 350 m downstream of the confluence with the Judhan River. A gated weir structure, a side intake with approach culvert and a settling basin are proposed to divert flow towards the proposed Lungri Khola Hydroelectric Project. A headrace pipe of approximately 7597 m length, a surge pipe, and a buried penstock pipe are proposed as a water conveyance system for the project. Then, after, the water conveyance system feeds discharge to the surface powerhouse with two units of vertical-axis Francis turbines. The powerhouse site is located upstream of the confluence of Lungri Khola and Rajan Khola. Finally, the discharge through the tailrace box culvert is released back to Lungri Khola.
